William Lawson Coffey Jr b. on May 21, 1908 in Alanthus Grove, Gentry Co, MO. Enlisted on Jun 4, 1942 and Jul 31, 1947. US Navy WW2, Korea. USS HORNET (CV-8) in the Battle of Midway. Ogeron was on temporary duty from VP-44, replacing Coffey in Woodside's crew after arriving at Midway NAS. Ogeron took Coffey's ride that day. Wm. Coffey was listed as missing for 19 days before they realized he was not on the plane when it was shot down. There were actually two survivors that day. Lt. Gay and Chief Coffey. On Sep 24, 1978 he died in Sun City, Riverside Co, CA. Buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA, Section 7 Site 685.
