William Arthur Coleman b. on February 01, 1843 in Richmond, Va. Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1864 Enlisted as a Adjutant at the age of 20 years old. On Oct 7, 1861 on rolls. On Jan 11, 1862 on rolls. On Jan 23, 1862 Absent at Nashville, TN. On Feb 16, 1862 POW. On March 1, 1862 Confined at Camp Chase, OH. On Apr 24, 1862 Confined at Johnson's Island, OH. On Sept 1, 1862 Transferred to Vicksburg, MS "arrived for exchange". On Sept 19, 1862 Paroled. On Sept 15, 1863 he mustered into Co. E, 2nd Va Cavalry. On Apr 15, 1864 He was discharged. On Apr 30, 1864 On rolls. He also had service in Field & Staff 50th, VA Infantry estimated day of discharge, failed reelection. On Apr 15, 1865 Oath Allegiance at Lynchburg, VA.
