Enlisted on July 7, 1941 he left for his final exam at Roanoke, Va, he passed the exam and boarded a train for Camp Lee ( Fort Lee) at midnight. Arrived at Camp Lee early in the morning of July 8, 1941 spent 3 days at Camp Lee and was sent to Camp Wheeler, GA, we were their about 4 or 5 days. On Oct 16, 1941 when basic was finished he was transfer from Camp Wheeler, GA to the 211th Military Police Co. Jackson's Barracks, New Orleans. On April 1, 1942 was transfer to the 230th Military Police Co. Jackson's Barracks. On June 1, 1942 was transfer to New Orleans, Staging area. On Aug 8, 1942 was transfer to Jackson's Barracks. On Sept 20, 1943 attend Tank school at Ford Plank, he like this work. On Dec 29, 1943 was transferred to N. O. P. E. Ships compement. Staff Sgt 230th Military Police Co. Jackson's Barracks. TECH/SGT SHIPS COMPLEMENT 9222ND TSU TC. He served in the army as a Sgt. and was stationed off the coast of Korea for a while on a supply ship and saved a life while he was there.
