John N. Hutchinson b. 1833 in Va. Enlisted on May 7, 1862 at Camp Success into the Chapmanville Riflemen Co. C, 36th Va Inf at the age of 25 years old. On May 9, 1864 Wounded at Cloyd's Mountain, Va. On May 10, 1865 Paroled (place not stated). Where he was captured is also not listed. He was described at enlistment as being 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes and auburn hair.

Company C, Nicknamed the CHAPMANVILLE RIFLEMEN, was organized on June 19,1861, for one year enlistment. They were accepted into C.S service July 1,1861. (This company was first a part of the 2nd Kanawha Infantry Regt.) They were consolidated with Company B and Company H to form Company D on May 26, 1862.
