Jerry Dale Wyland b. on March 24, 1927 in Powers, Coos Co, Oregon. CM3 US Navy Reserve WWII. On November 19, 1952 he died in San Francisco, CA. Buried in Norway Cemetery, Norway, Coos Co, OR. Gasoline fires flamed up and several explosions took place. The ship suffered the loss of 346 men killed, 43 missing, and 264 wounded. (My cousin was one of the 346 men killed on the ship). |
