James Grayson Coffey b. in 1839 Enlisted on July 15, 1861 at Caldwell County, NC at the age of 22 years old into Co. F, 26th NC Infantry. On July 1, 1863 Wounded in the left arm and captured at Gettysburg, Pa. On July 17, 1863 His left arm was amputated and he was hospitalized at Gettysburg, Pa until his transfer to Davis Island, NY Harbor. On Aug 24, 1863 He died from his wounds.
