Henry Eaton Coleman b. on Jan 5, 1837 in Halifax Co, Va. Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1855. Enlisted on Apr 26, 1861 at Granville County, Nc into the Co. B, 12th Nc Infantry at the age of 24 years old. On Apr 26, 1861 he was promoted to Capt. On May 1, 1862 He was discharged for defeated for reelection. On May 4, 1863 he was commissioned into Field & Staff 12th NC Infantry. On Aug 11, 1863 he was promoted to Colonel. On May 2, 1864 Wounded at Spotsylvania Court House, Va. Aide-de-camp Brig Genl Alfred Iverson's staff. On Dec 30, 1864 Absent wounded. On June 25, 1890 he died in Halifax Co, Va.
