MY GREAT-GREAT GRANDFATHER ( F )   Capt. Charles Harvey Harler* b. 1831 Enlisted on April 5, 1861 at Cabell County, Va into the Border Rangers Co. E, 8th Va Cavalry. Capt. Logan Co., WV On April 13, 1863 He was a POW and was taken to Charleston, then to Morgantown, then on to Camp Chase, Oh. On May 13, 1863 Exchanged at City Point, Va. After the war He was a Farmer. OTHER HARLER'S   Pvt. John Harler Enlisted as a Private into Captain Arrington's Company Virginia Light Artillery.   Pvt. James M. Harler Enlisted as a Private into Lieutenant Bosher's Company Virginia Local Defence.   Pvt. Theophilus K. Harler b. in 1838 in Tyler Co, Va. Enlisted as a Private into Co. D, 19th Va Cavalry. In March 1863 deserted Captured at Philippi, WV. On March 7, 1865 sent to Clarksburg, WV where he took the amnesty oath and was sent to Wheeling, WV. On March 9, 1865 confined at the Atheneum prison. On March 11, 1865 he was described as age 27, 5'10' dark complexion, dark hair and blue eyes. Occ saddler. Residing in Tyler Co, WV.   Pvt. William Harler Enlisted as a Private into Co. A, Wade's Regiment Virginia Local Defence.
