Henry Llewellyn Daingerfield Lewis b. on April 25, 1843 in Audley, Va. Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1864. On June 2, 1861 asgnd to 27th Va Infantry as Cadet. Enlisted on Aug 11, 1861 he mustered into Co. D, 1st Va Cavalry. On Sept 12, 1861 He was transferred out and into Co. D, 6th Va Cavalry. Served J.E.B. Stuart's Staff. In 1861 Served as Drillmaster in Richmond, Va. Major on General Maury's Staff. On April 8, 1865 POW in Blakesly, AL While serving on General Liddell's Staff. He was discharged for promotion. On Dec 17, 1893 he died in Audley, Clarke County, Va. Buried in Grace Episcopal Cemetery, Berryville, Va.
