George Washington Coffey b. on Nov 20, 1842 in NC. Enlisted on March 20, 1862 in Caldwell County, NC into Co. F, 26th NC Infantry at the age of 21 years old. On Oct 14, 1863 POW Bristoe Station, Va. On Oct 16, 1863 Confined Point Lookout, MD. On Feb 23, 1865 Paroled and Transferred and Received for exchange at Aiken's Landing, Va. On Nov 9, 1912 he died in Caldwell Co, NC. Buried in Boone Fork Community Cemetery, Watauga Co, NC.
