  Pvt. Bartlett Coffey* b. in Feb 1842 in Yadkin, Caldwell Co, NC. Enlisted on Jul 5, 1862 Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC P. Rangers Infantry at the age of 20 years old. On Jan 15, 1863 on rolls. In Sept 1863 Detailed as a cooper in Loudon, TN.

  Pvt. Calvin Tenn Coffey b. on Jun 16, 1839 Enlisted on August 21, 1862 into Co. D, 26th Tenn Infantry. In May 1864 he died.



  Pvt. Coalston Harrison Coffey b. 1833 Enlisted on July 8, 1862 into the Nelson Light Artillery under Capt. J. N. Lamkin. KIA.

  Pvt. David A. Coffey* b. in 1832 in Nelson Co, VA. Enlisted on Mar 17, 1863 at Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA into Lamkin's' Amherst-Nelson Light Artillery. On Jan 17, 1894 he died. Buried in White Rock Cemetery, Nelson Co, VA.

  Sergt Major. Drury Dobbins Coffey* b. on Apr 23, 1838 in Caldwell Co, NC Enlisted on July 5, 1862 Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC Infantry at the age of 23 years old. On Aug 16, 1913 he died.

  Pvt. Elbert Coffey* b. 1837 Enlisted on Jul 5, 1862 Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC P. Rangers Infantry at the age of 25 years old. On May 15, 1863 He died at Big Creek Gap, TN.

  Pvt. Elijah Coffey* b. on Aug 20, 1838 in Yadkin, Caldwell Co, NC. Enlisted on Jul 5, 1862 Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC P. Rangers Infantry at the age of 23 years old. In Sept 1863 Detailed as a cooper in Loudon, TN. On Sept 19, 1863 Wounded in hip in Chickamauga, GA. On May 14, 1864 Wounded in his left hand in Resaca, GA.

  Pvt Frederick Coffey* b. 1834 Enlisted as a Private into the Amherst Johnson Guard Co, F 58th Va Infantry.

  Pvt. George W. Coffey* b. 1836 Enlisted on April 23, 1861 at Amherst Courthouse into the Quantico Guards Co. I, 49th Va Infantry for 1 year. Present through Jan 1862. In Feb 17-28, 1862 granted furlough. On March 25, 1862 he died of typhoid fever in camp near the Rapidan River, Cert. No. 1750 Reg. of Confederate Dead.

  Pvt. George Washington Coffey b. Abt. 1842 Enlisted on March 20, 1862 in Caldwell County, NC into Co. F, 26th NC Infantry at the age of 21 years old. On Oct 14, 1863 POW Bristoe Station, Va. On Oct 16, 1863 Confined Point Lookout, MD. On Feb 23, 1865 Paroled and Transferred and Received for exchange at Aiken's Landing, Va.

  Sergt. Henry Clay Coffey* Enlisted on July 15, 1861 at Caldwell County, NC at the of 18 years old into Co. F, 26th NC Infantry. On rolls through Feb. 1865. On July 1, 1863 he was Wounded in the wrist and POW at Gettysburg, PA.On July 3, 1863 Hospitalized at Gettysburg, PA.

  Pvt. Heskiah Coffey b. in 1834 Enlisted on Aug 11, 1862 at Fulton Hill, Va into Buckingham Yancey Guards Co. D, 56th Va Infantry. On January 18, 1863 he died.

  Pvt James Coffey b. on May 23, 1836 Enlisted on April 22, 1862 at Gordonsville, VA into the Co. E, 13th Va Infantry. Formerly in Militia Amherst Co. On Aug 13, 1862 Deserted. On July 1, 1863 Returned sometime after. On March 7, 1864 court-martialed. On Dec 30, 1915 he died. Bur. in the Coffey Family Cemetery in Amherst Co, Va.

  Pvt. Jesse F. Coffey* b. Abt. 1842 Enlisted on July 25, 1862 Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC Infantry at the age of 20 years old. On Mar 7, 1863 He died at Big Creek Gap, TN

  Pvt James Grayson Coffey* b. in 1839 Enlisted on July 15, 1861 at Caldwell County, NC at the age of 22 years old into Co. F, 26th NC Infantry. On July 1, 1863 Wounded in the left arm and captured at Gettysburg, Pa. On July 17, 1863 His left arm was amputated and he was hospitalized at Gettysburg, Pa until his transfer to Davis Island, NY Harbor. On Aug 24, 1863 He died from his wounds.

  Pvt James Henry Coffey Enlisted on Sept 3, 1861 at Massie Mill into the Nelson Light Artillery under Capt. J. N. Lamkin. On March 26, 1863 Adm to Hospital at camp winder, Richmond, Va. On Oct 20, 1863 diarrhoea RTD. On Oct 24, 1863 Adm to Chimborazo Hospital No. 5. On June 19, 1864 debility, transferred to Lynchburg. On July 9, 1864 Adm Chimboraxo Hospital No. 1. On Oct 1, 1864 Chronic Rheumatism, RTD. On Oct 6, 1864 NFR.

  Pvt. John Gordon Coffey b. on August 24, 1840 Enlisted on May 15, 1862 as a Private into Co. A, 34th GA Infantry at the age of 21 years old. On July 4, 1863 POW Vicksburg, MS. On July 8, 1863 Paroled Vicksburg, MS.

  Pvt. John James Coffey b. on May 08, 1836 Enlisted on April 22, 1862 at Gordonsville, Va into Co. E, 13th Va Infantry. On Aug 13, 1862 Deserted. On July 1, 1863 Returned. On March 7, 1864 Court martialed. On June 17, 1864 He deserted.

  Pvt Jordon Coffey* b. 1842 Enlisted on March 1, 1864 into the Amherst Rough & Readies Co. I, 49th Va Infantry. On Oct 1, 1864 AWOL.

  Pvt. Larkin Coffey* b. in 1840 in Yadkin, Caldwell Co, NC. Enlisted on Mar 19, 1862 Caldwell County NC into Co. A, 22nd NC Infantry. On Aug 29, 1862 Wounded and POW in 2nd Manassas, VA. On Sept 21, 1862 Exchanged in Aiken's Landing, VA. On May 23, 1864 POW in Jericho Mills, VA. On May 30, 1864 Confined at Point Lookout, MD. On Aug 4, 1864 he died of diphtheria at Point Lookout, MD.

  Pvt. Marvel Maurice Coffey* b. 1840 Enlisted on July 10, 1861 at Fairfield, Va at the of 21 years old into Co. B, 52nd Va Infantry. On Sept 28, 1861 He transferred out and into 2nd Rockbridge VA Light Artillery. On May 20, 1862 He died of disease at Staunton, Va.

  Pvt Marvel Tenn Coffey b. in 1842 Enlisted into 26th Tenn Infantry. He was captured at Ft. Donelson in TN and exchanged at Vicksburg. He rejoined his unit. Wounded in the hip at Stones River in Murfreesboro, TN. He saw action from Atlanta to Franklin and was captured at Bentonville, NC and taken to Pt. Lookout until the end of the War two months later. On March 25, 1917 He died in Rockcastle Co, Ky.

  Pvt. Moses Coffey b. 1835 in Nelson Co, VA. Died in the Civil War.



  Pvt. Patterson Vance Coffey b. Abt. 1843 Enlisted on Sept 20, 1863 in Watauga County, NC into Co. D, 1st NC Infantry at the age of 18 years old. On Feb 6, 1864 Re-enlisted in Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC Infantry. On Aug 31, 1864 On rolls.

  Pvt Patrick M. Henry Coffey b. on April 15, 1834 in Nelson Co, Va. Enlisted on July 10, 1861 at Fairfield, Va at the of 27 years old into Co. B, 51st Va Infantry. On Sept 28, 1861 He transferred out and into 2nd Rockbridge VA Light Artillery.

  3rd Corpl. Peter J. Coffey* b. in 1836 Enlisted on July 10, 1861 at Fairfield, Va at the of 25 years old into Co. B, 52nd Va Infantry. On Sept 28, 1861 He transferred out and into 2nd Rockbridge VA Light Artillery.

  Pvt. Robert H. Coffey* b. 1839 Enlisted on August 21, 1861 into the Amherst Rough & Readies Co. I, 49th Va Infantry. On Feb 17-28, 1862 for 1 year granted furlough. Present through Jan-Feb 1863. On May 14, 1864 Wounded at Spotsylvania CH in Va. In May 1864 he died of his wounds at Spotsylvania CH in Va. Buried at Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery Spotsylvania CH in Va.

  Pvt Robert W. Coffey* b. 1835 Enlisted at Fairfield, Va as a Private into the Capt. William Long's Co. Co. B, 52nd Va Infantry. On Oct 14, 1863 He was Wounded at Bristoe Station, Va. He is also service in 2nd" Co. Va Rockbridge Light Artillery.

  Pvt. Rufus Coffey* Enlisted on March 1, 1864 at Caldwell County, NC into Co. I, 26th NC Infantry. On May 6, 1864 Wounded at Wilderness, Va Right arm amputated. On Oct 31, 1864 He was discharged for disability.

  1st Sergt. Silas C. Coffey Enlisted on July 5, 1862 in Caldwell County NC into Co. E 58th NC Infantry. at the age of 27 years old. On Jan 15, 1863 On rolls. On Oct 15, 1863 On rolls. On Jan 1, 1864 Detailed as teamster. On July 1, 1864 Returned. On July 4, 1864 Promoted to 1st Sergt. On Aug 15, 1864 On rolls.

  2nd Lieut. Thomas Jefferson Coffey* b. on Dec 1828 in Patterson, Caldwell Co. NC. Enlisted on July 5, 1862 at Caldwell County, NC into Co. E, 58th NC Infantry As acting Asst QM most of war On July 29, 1862 Promotioned to 2nd Lieut. On Aug 31, 1864 Promotioned to 1st Lieut and On rolls. On Sept 9, 1863 Promotioned to Asst QM and Transfer from company E to Field & Staff. On June 1, 1864 Transfer from Field & Staff to company E. On March 14, 1865 Hospitalized with phthisis "which is a wasting away of the body, usually caused by tuberculosis" at Charlotte, NC and on furloughed.



  Pvt. Thomas Milton Coffey* b. 1835 Enlisted on March 20, 1862 into Co. F, 26th NC Infantry. On July 1, 1863 Wounded in the breast and Captured at Gettysburg, PA. On Aug 12, 1863 Died of his wounds. He was reburied in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.



  2nd Lieut. William Columbus Coffey* Enlisted on March 20, 1863 at Caldwell County, NC into Co. I, 26th NC Infantry. On Jan 15, 1863 He transferred out and into Co. E, 58th NC Infantry. On April 30, 1862 Promoted to Corpl.

  Pvt William Montabelle Coffey* b. April 15, 1834 Enlisted on July 10, 1861 at Fairfield, Va at the of 27 years old into Co. B, 52nd Va Infantry. On Sept 28, 1861 He transferred out and into 2nd Rockbridge VA Light Artillery.



  Corporal. William W. Coffey b. Abt. 1834 in NC. Enlisted into Co. D, 26th Tenn Infantry. He was shot in the thigh in battle at Missionary Ridge, TN. On July 11, 1864 he died in Marietta, Georgia.

  Pvt Wyatt Coffey b. Abt. 1836 Enlisted on Sept 15, 1862 at Richmond, Va into the Amherst Johnson Guard Co. F, 49th Va Infantry. May 30, 1864 Wounded and POW in the Chickahominy area near Richmond, Va.
