"Daniel G. Campbell was one of many Confederate Soldiers who were patients and were treated here." Chimborazo Hospital, located in Richmond, Virginia, was opened in October of 1861. It was spread over forty acres and operated approximately 80 wards, or huts. A ward could house up to 40 patients for a total capacity of approximately 3200 patients. More than 76,000 Confederate patients were treated here.
