Andrew Baxter Campbell b. in May 1841 in Rockbridge Co, VA. Enlisted on May 29, 1861 at Greenville into the Augusta Grays Co. E, 5th Va Infantry. On June 30, 1861 he mustered in at Camp Stephens. On May 5, 1864 he was seriously wounded in the chest in the battle of the Wilderness. After the War he was a farmer and resided at Steele's Tavern in 1889 and was a member of Hupp-Deyerle Camp, C.V., Salem, 1902. On August 20, 1902 he was admitted to Soldier's Home in Richmond VA. On Jan 10, 1914 he died. Buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond VA. (Brother of Nimrod McPherson Campbell)
